SCPL Reader’s Corner: February 1

Hey everyone!  It’s Bill and I’m back with another round of Reader’s Corner.

We are definitely in throes of winter here in Scott County and the snow has been swirling and very cold temperatures.  I love snow.  It’s pretty, but I don’t like driving in winter weather.

News from the Library

We are re-opening to the public today, February 1 at all three locations.   Hours are as posted at each location.

We still have the following COVID-19 protocols in place:

  • We are offering copy services at Lexington, Scottsburg, and Austin.  Black and white copies are 10 cents per page.  Color copies are 25 cents per page.  Color copies are currently only available at the Scottsburg location.
  • Computer access is available.  We have a limited number of computers at each location.  Cardholders are given a 3 hour time limit and visitors are given a two hour time limit.  Please call ahead to see if computers are available as there are only a limited number available.
  • Face masks are required to be worn over the mouth and nose while in the library.  Masks and hand sanitizer are provided if you don’t have one.
  • We are still quarantining all returned items for 24 hours before check-in on your account.  Please return all materials to the book drops outside each location.

Don’t forget we have crafts to go for kids at all 3 locations as well.  Don’t forget to grab a kit when you come or schedule curbside.

Behind the scenes

We’ve still been adding lots of new books for you to browse at all 3 locations.  Come in and take a look at what we have to offer for all ages.  We have new fiction, new children’s, new YA, and large print.
