Season’s Readings

Hey fellow readers!  It’s Bill and I hope you had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving holiday.  It’s now December and we’re moving fast towards Christmas here on the blog.  We have lots of good things coming up this month, including sharing some great ideas for gift giving this Christmas as well as our Best Books of 2020.  We are also going to be sharing a 2021 Reading Challenge that we are creating just for patrons here at the library for fun.

The Library is back to Curbside Services

But first, I wanted to share a couple of quick updates.  As most of you are aware, the library resumed curbside services only on Monday, November 30 due to the spike of Covid-19 cases in Scott County.  This means that we will be happy to bring you materials to your vehicle after you call and set up a pick-up appointment by calling the library at 812-752-2751 and selecting the appropriate location.  Curbside is available at all 3 library locations:  Austin, Lexington, and Scottsburg.   When you are ready to pick up your materials, pull outside to the designated space and let us know you are here.  Our library staff will bring the materials to you at the white table.  You will wait in your vehicle until the staff member has returned to the building and then pick them up from the table.  Easy peasy!

Computer Appointments

We are also continuing to offer computer use for 60 minute time slots once per day by appointment only.  Call the library and set up a time.

2020 Fall Reading Program Ends Saturday, December 5

Our Fall 2020 Reading Program will end at the close of the business day on Saturday, December 5.  If you haven’t completed your card yet, you have until 5:00 p.m. to have the card turned in at one of our outside book drops.  We will retrieve the card and calculate your tickets and enter you into the prize drawing.  Prizes will be announced sometime before Christmas and you will make an appointment to pick your prizes up at the main library in Scottsburg.
